Insect Effigy

Scholars have long debated the nature of this intricate object. Many have been found at different sites, with no apparent use. A popular theory identifies it as a stylized insect effigy. Insect species are thought to have spread widely, surviving mass extinctions, which would explain the importance the people of the Old Lands attributed to them.
