Good Luck Jester Figure
Provenance
Interpretation
In hard times, the need for levity must have been great among the people of the Old Lands. This merry statuette, small enough to fit in a pocket, was probably meant for good luck and is thought to have been very popular among the lower classes. Its playful attitude would have contrasted starkly with the state of the world at the time.
