Blessing Hand
Provenance
Interpretation
A fitting symbol of a superstitious society, this blessing hand has been found almost intact. We cannot be certain what the gesture signified, but it appears to be one of good fortune. Its relatively lightweight material identifies it as a household object rather than a temple decoration, though this remains debated: it might simply reflect the increasing scarcity of resources.
