Hand Mirror

A typical feature of the artifacts in this exhibition is their needless complexity, probably the result of the craftsmen's desire to showcase their skill. This small mirror, possibly carried by women when away from home, reveals very fine inner decorations that serve no specific purpose. And yet the hand mirror is one of the most common artifacts found at the excavation sites - a true staple of daily life.
